Partner with HomeWorks!
Why Partner with HomeWorks!
HomeWorks! is a public Homeschool Parent Partnership within the Cheney School District. It is designed to combine the best of homeschooling with the benefits of a school community. We believe students thrive when families and educators work together in intentional partnership.
At HomeWorks!, students benefit from:
- The best of both worlds
- Students attend classes on campus one or two days a week and learn at home the remaining days, blending flexibility with structure.
- Students attend classes on campus one or two days a week and learn at home the remaining days, blending flexibility with structure.
- A true school experience
- Students participate in structured classes, recess, school lunch, community celebrations, and school activities like science fairs and living museums.
- Students also have access to school sports and activities at local schools, fostering teamwork, confidence, and belonging.
- Students build friendships and social skills in a consistent, supportive environment.
- Strong academic guidance
- Every family is paired with a mentor teacher who partners closely with both the student and parents.
- Mentor teachers support academic planning, monitor progress, and help ensure students are meeting Washington State grade-level expectations.
- Personalized support and accountability
- Families are not navigating homeschooling alone—our educators provide guidance, resources, and regular check-ins.
- Support is tailored to each child’s strengths, needs, and learning style.
Our belief
We believe that students who are homeschooled in partnership with HomeWorks! are uniquely positioned for success—academically, socially, and emotionally—because they receive the freedom of home learning plus the structure, support, and opportunities of a public school.
HomeWorks! is not just a program—it is a partnership.
